Guildford is Surrey’s historic county town, with a cobbled High Street running down to the River Wey and the Surrey Hills rising on every side. It is a natural base for weddings that mix a town ceremony with a day in the countryside.
From our studio in Beckenham we drive across by the M25 and A3, leaving time for traffic so we are there before you start getting ready. Guildford, Godalming, Cranleigh and the villages of the Surrey Hills are all within our 50-mile travel radius.
Estates, barns and village churches
Popular venues include Loseley Park, an Elizabethan house just south of the town with walled gardens and a moat walk, and Gate Street Barn in Bramley, a timber barn suited to a relaxed, open-plan day. A little further east, Denbies Wine Estate near Dorking puts rows of vines and the North Downs behind your photographs.
The villages around Guildford have old parish churches with lychgates and yew trees, lovely for the walk out and the confetti. See church weddings for how we work quietly during a service. Civil ceremonies are arranged through Surrey’s registration service; see civil ceremonies for how we cover them.
Into the hills
The Surrey Hills give Guildford weddings a real sense of place: chalk downland, beech woods and sandy heath, often only a few minutes from the venue. Tree cover softens bright sun, and high ground holds the evening light long after the valleys go dim.
- Use the shade. On a bright summer day, a short walk into the trees gives softer, more even light than an open lawn.
- Save the views for sunset. We look at where the sun will set over your venue before the day and plan portraits around it.
- Bring sensible shoes. Woodland paths and grass can be soft underfoot, so a second pair for portraits helps.
Every tradition welcome
We photograph and film weddings of every faith and culture, including Hindu, Sikh and Jewish weddings, nikah and walima celebrations and fusion weddings that bring two families’ traditions together. Country estates around Guildford often have room for a marquee, which suits a larger Asian wedding with several events over a weekend.
Photography and film, together
Estate and barn weddings spread across gardens, fields and halls, which is where one team covering both photography and film really helps. Photography starts from £830 and film from £1,430. See all our collections.
On the day, our photographer works quietly and lets moments happen, while our filmmaker records the vows, speeches and sound of the day. Afterwards you receive an edited gallery and a film that brings back the place as well as the people.

Your questions, answered
Is travel to Guildford included?
Yes. Travel is included within 50 miles of Beckenham, which covers Guildford and nearly all of the Surrey Hills. If your venue is further out, we quote travel at cost and tell you before you book.
What if it rains at an outdoor ceremony?
Most venues around Guildford have an indoor plan, and we adapt with them. Barns, orangeries and house interiors all photograph well, and trees give some shelter for a quick portrait between showers. A clear umbrella or two in the car is always worth it.
Can we have portraits away from our venue?
Sometimes. Most estates have plenty of space in their own grounds. Public land and National Trust sites can have their own rules for photography and filming, so we check before suggesting a spot.
Do you meet couples before the wedding?
Yes. We have a video call or meet in person to go through the plan, the timings and the people who matter most. Nearer the day we send a short questionnaire so nothing is left to chance.
