Leicester knows how to celebrate. This is the city of Belgrave Road’s Diwali lights, of Gujarati and Punjabi families who plan a wedding as a gathering of everyone they love. We are a photography and film studio based in Beckenham, and we travel up to Leicester to photograph and film weddings like these.
Leicester is one of the most diverse cities in Britain, and its weddings show it. Hindu ceremonies with a mandap and pheras, Sikh weddings at the gurdwara, nikahs, Jain and Christian ceremonies, and plenty of couples bringing two traditions together. We photograph and film weddings of every faith and culture, and we take the time to learn how your family does things before the day.
Hindu and Gujarati weddings
A Gujarati wedding has a shape we know well: the garba nights, the pithi or haldi at home, the groom’s arrival, the kanyadaan, the pheras around the fire and the emotional vidaai at the end. Couples marrying at Shree Sanatan Mandir or at a hired hall in the city often want each of these moments told as part of one story. Our Hindu wedding films are made that way, and our photography follows the same thread.
Beyond the city
Leicestershire also has some lovely country venues for couples who want space, gardens and a quieter setting. Popular venues include Stapleford Park near Melton Mowbray, Prestwold Hall near Loughborough, Kilworth House in the south of the county and Belvoir Castle in the Vale of Belvoir. Many Leicester families hold the religious ceremony in the city and the reception out in the county, and we are happy to follow you between the two.
Travelling to Leicester
- A clear travel cost. Travel within 50 miles of Beckenham is included. Leicester is beyond that, so we add travel at cost, shown in your quote from the start.
- Staying close. Hindu muhurats and gurdwara ceremonies often start early in the morning. We stay overnight nearby so we are there from the first moment.
- Event by event. Multi-day Asian weddings are priced one event at a time, so you only pay for what you want covered.
- One team. The same people photograph and film every event, which keeps the work consistent and the day calm.
Every tradition, every family
Alongside Hindu weddings, we cover Sikh weddings, nikahs, civil ceremonies and fusion weddings. Photography starts from £830, film from £1,430, and the two together from £2,180. See our collections for the full picture. We also travel to Birmingham and Derby.
Your questions, answered
Can you cover the garba and sangeet as well as the wedding?
Yes. Each event is priced separately, so you can add the garba, sangeet or mehndi nights to the wedding day and the reception.
How do you charge for travel to Leicester?
At cost. Travel is included within 50 miles of our studio in Beckenham, and beyond that we add the real cost of getting there, plus a hotel when an early start or several days in a row need one.
Do you know the order of a Hindu ceremony?
We do, but every family and every priest does things a little differently. We talk it through with you before the day so we are in the right place for each ritual.
