Father of the bride in a quiet emotional moment, black and white

Tunbridge Wells Wedding Photographer & Videographer

Tunbridge Wells is a spa town with manners: colonnades, Georgian terraces, a common that runs right up to the shops, and rolling High Weald countryside on every side. We photograph and film weddings here from our studio in Beckenham, about an hour down the A21.

Weddings in and around the town tend to be elegant and unhurried, with a ceremony in a church or a country house, a long lunch and a lot of family. That suits the way we work: quietly, close to the people who matter, and never in the way.

Venues in and around town

Popular venues include The Spa Hotel, set in its own grounds above the common, and Hotel du Vin, a Georgian house close to the centre. Just outside town, couples marrying at Salomons Estate in Southborough get Victorian rooms and a science theatre with real character, and Hever Castle, a short drive west, is one of the best-known wedding venues in Kent. For more ideas, see our guide to wedding venues across Kent.

Many couples here marry in church first, in the town or a village nearby, and then move on to the reception. If that is your plan, our church weddings page explains how we work within the rules each vicar sets.

Portraits on the pantiles

The town gives us more than the venue grounds. The colonnaded Pantiles, the sandstone outcrops on the common, Calverley Grounds and Dunorlan Park, with its lake and fountain, all make calm, natural backdrops a few minutes from most town-centre venues. We look at the route before the day so twenty minutes of portraits feel like a walk, not a photoshoot.

  • Spring. The Weald’s orchards and bluebell woods are at their best from April into May.
  • Summer. Long evenings and golden light over the fields, ideal for portraits after dinner.
  • Autumn and winter. Warm hotel interiors, candlelight and early dusk, which flatters everyone.

Photography and film, together

One team can cover both your wedding photography and your wedding film, so the day is planned once and nobody competes for the same spot during your vows. Photography starts from £830 and film from £1,430. We photograph and film weddings of every faith and culture, from civil ceremonies to Asian and fusion celebrations. See all our collections, or our Kent wedding photographer page if you are marrying elsewhere in the county.

Your questions, answered

Do you charge for travel to Tunbridge Wells?

No. Travel is included within 50 miles of our studio in Beckenham, and Tunbridge Wells sits comfortably inside that, as do most venues in the surrounding villages.

Can you cover a church ceremony and a country house reception?

Yes. It is one of the most common shapes of a wedding here. We plan the journey between the two so there is time for confetti, family photographs and a few quiet portraits on the way.

Is there somewhere nice for portraits if it rains?

Usually. The Pantiles colonnade gives cover, and most hotels and estates around the town have good window light and covered terraces. We bring large umbrellas too, which often make the best photographs of the day.

How quickly will you reply?

Within one working day. Tell us your date and venue and we will confirm whether we are free and what your day would cost.
