Watford sits where north west London meets the Hertfordshire countryside. Within a few miles you have large country hotels, banqueting suites built for big family weddings, canal towpaths and the wide lawns of Cassiobury Park.
From our studio in Beckenham we come round the M25, so we plan our journey with time to spare and arrive before you start getting ready. Watford, Rickmansworth, Bushey and Kings Langley are all within our 50-mile travel radius.
Country hotels and grand houses
Popular venues include The Grove near Chandler’s Cross, a country estate hotel with formal gardens and plenty of space for a large guest list, and Micklefield Hall near Rickmansworth, a smaller, family-style house with its own grounds. Moor Park, a Palladian mansion that is now a golf club, is another well-known choice for couples who want painted ceilings and long views over the parkland.
Many couples also hold a civil ceremony arranged through Hertfordshire’s registration service, or a church wedding in one of the parishes around the town, before moving on to a hotel or hall for the reception.
Big family celebrations
Watford and the surrounding area are home to many Hindu, Sikh and Muslim families, and Bhaktivedanta Manor, one of the best-known Hindu temples in the country, is just outside the town. Weddings here often run over several days, from a mehndi or sangeet to the ceremony and a reception for hundreds of guests. We photograph and film them all: see our pages on Hindu weddings, Sikh weddings, nikah and walima, Asian weddings and fusion weddings.
- Share the running order early. For a multi-day wedding, a simple plan of each event helps us bring the right team to each one.
- Know the temple or gurdwara’s guidance. We follow each place’s rules on where we stand, what we wear and when we can film.
- Plan the group photographs. At a large reception, a list and a cousin who knows every aunt and uncle keep things moving quickly.
Light in the hall
Banqueting halls can be dark, with coloured stage lighting and a busy dance floor. We bring our own discreet lighting, check the room before guests arrive and talk to your DJ and decorator, so your entrance, speeches and first dance look as good on film as they felt on the night.
Country hotels bring the opposite problem: lots of daylight and space, but long distances between the ceremony room, the gardens and the reception. We walk the venue before the day so we know the quickest routes, and with two of us on the day one can stay with guests while the other follows the couple.
One team, photo and film
Most couples book photography and film together, so one team plans the day with you and works as one in the room. Photography starts from £830 and film from £1,430. See all our collections.

Your questions, answered
Is travel to Watford included?
Yes. Travel is included within 50 miles of Beckenham, which covers Watford and the towns around it.
Can you cover the mehndi and sangeet as well?
Yes. We quote each event separately, so you choose which days to cover and for how long, with photography, film or both. Smaller events such as a haldi or a family dinner can be covered for just an hour or two.
How many guests can you cover?
There is no upper limit. For very large weddings we add a second photographer or camera operator, so we can cover both families and the whole room at once.
Do you meet couples before the wedding?
Yes. We have a video call or meet in person to go through each event, the timings and the family members who matter most, so the team on the day knows exactly what to expect.
