Maidstone Wedding Photographer & Videographer

Maidstone is Kent’s county town, set on the River Medway with the North Downs to the north and orchards and farmland stretching south into the Weald. It sits at the centre of some of the county’s best-loved wedding country.

From our studio in Beckenham it is a straightforward drive down the M20, so we can arrive early, walk your venue before guests do and stay until the last dance. Maidstone and the villages around it are well within our 50-mile travel radius.

Castles and country houses

Popular venues include Leeds Castle, a few miles east of the town, set on islands in a lake with wide parkland around it, and Boughton Monchelsea Place, an Elizabethan manor house looking out over a deer park and the Weald. Both give your photographs and film a strong sense of place, from stone and water to long views across open country.

For church weddings, the villages around Maidstone have old ragstone parish churches with lychgates and churchyards that are lovely for the walk out and the confetti. Civil ceremonies are arranged through Kent’s registration service: see civil ceremonies for how we cover them.

The river and the Downs

Mid Kent has plenty of variety close at hand. Mote Park, with its lake and old trees, is on the edge of the town centre; the Medway runs north past riverside paths; and the slopes of the North Downs catch the evening light above the valley. We look at the land around your venue before the day, so we know where the light will be and how far you will want to walk in your wedding shoes.

  • Spring. Orchard blossom and bluebell woods, with fresh green everywhere.
  • Summer. Long evenings, garden drinks receptions and late golden hour portraits by the water.
  • Autumn and winter. Rich colour in the parkland, then candlelight inside. See winter weddings.

Weddings of every faith

We photograph and film weddings of every faith and culture across Kent, including Hindu and Sikh weddings, nikah and walima celebrations, Jewish weddings and fusion weddings. Country venues with marquee space suit a larger Asian wedding, and we quote each event separately so you only pay for the coverage you need.

One team for photo and film

Most couples book photography and film together, so one team plans the day with you and works as one across gardens, terraces and halls. Photography starts from £830 and film from £1,430. See all our collections.

On the day, our photographer works quietly and lets moments happen, while our filmmaker records the vows, speeches and sound of the room. Afterwards you receive an edited gallery and a film you will want to watch again, not just once.

Marrying elsewhere in the county? See our pages for Kent, Sevenoaks, Tunbridge Wells and London. We also cover Guildford in Surrey, and St Albans and Watford north of London.

Your questions, answered

Is travel to Maidstone included?

Yes. Travel is included within 50 miles of our studio in Beckenham, and Maidstone and the surrounding villages are inside that. For venues further east we may quote travel at cost, and we always tell you before you book.

Do you work at castles and historic houses with strict rules?

Yes. Historic venues often have rules on confetti, candles and which rooms we can use. We read the venue’s guidance in advance and plan around it.

How far ahead should we book?

Summer Saturdays at the larger venues book up early, so it is worth checking our date as soon as your venue is confirmed. We reply within one working day.

Do you meet couples before the wedding?

Yes. We have a video call or meet in person to go through the plan, the timings and the people who matter most. Nearer the day we send a short questionnaire so nothing is left to chance.
